The Artist
“Our awareness of ourselves, of others and of our environment has become the sine-qua-non condition for the survival of humanity and the future of the planet. Art and artists are players and an integral part of the great human community. They thus have the responsibility to “work” via their creation for the evolution of mankind”. Can a work-of-art increase awareness? Can it exalt the prodigious or fearful creation that the human being, the human hand is?
Celia GOUVEIAC born in Brazil in 1970 and grow-up in Sao Paulo. Passionate for art, she discovers the great masters of European painting. She studied dance, music and theater. Arriving in Paris in 1997 to join the theater drama school "Les Enfants Terribles" which she does follow the tree years. She also studied opera singing. In 1998 she’s meeting in Paris the sculptor Pétrus who became his teacher. She does follow his teaching for three years. The artist turns slowly toward conceptual art installations and monumental.
